Well my beloved drove 4000 miles in a period of eight days. His final trip here last week took him through 700 miles of snowstorms where he was able to drive only about 40 miles per hour. He truly surprised me by arriving in Texas less than 48 hours after leaving Washington. He was determined to make it home. I am so glad that he is here and that our family is under one roof again.
We were greatly blessed with the assistance of family and friends on both ends with packing boxes and driving trucks and flying home and such. The house is getting unpacked more slowly this time. Last year, the house was unpacked and completely decorated in about two weeks. Of course I was TREMENDOUSLY blessed with the assistance of a lovely young woman. Miss Melanie Hall stayed with us for two weeks after our arrival in Washington as a Mother's Helper. She was truly an extension of my hands, eyes and ears with the household and the children. You can read all about Miss Hall here.
I have a policy about unpacking. I REFUSE to trip over boxes in the house! The boxes are unloaded into the garage in an organized manner (with the exception of the kitchen and bathroom boxes which are unpacked immediately) and I bring in one box at a time for unpacking. This time a few boxes made it into the living room that I must get carried out right away as they are cluttering up the house.
The girls and I are getting settled in to our routine. Mother was here the last two days helping with the decorating. She is FABULOUS! I will be posting pictures of each of the rooms and such like I did last year. We were surprised with a visit from one of my brothers for the last two days as well. It was so nice to see him again!
I will also get back to Teacup Tuesdays next week!
I do hope that you have a blessed day.
