Every single day we are "steeping" character traits into our children.
That teaching can be passive as we fly through the days simply reacting to what happens throughout the day.
We can be precise and particular in carefully teaching their hearts the character of Christ.
Our children's character must "be purposed".
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." ~~Proverbs 22:6
Purpose is defined as an end to be obtained; a subject under discussion; an action in course of execution. Therefore, every moment of every day, mommas must remain focused on the end that we want to obtain for our children. They must remain a matter of discussion with the Lord and with our husbands. We must remember that the very hearts of our children are in a constant state of development.
What is the end to be obtained for each of our children anyway? What is "the way he should go"?? I think it is this:
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment." ~~Matthew 22:37-38
