Have you ever tried dredging your bacon slices through some flour? I have not done this personally, yet, but that is the only way we eat bacon at my MIL home. It is so very delicious because the bacon has this extra crunchiness to it without over-frying it.
Hmmm...my mouth is watering for it now, especially since we are more than 2,000 miles away from my MIL. Guess we'll be having bacon tomorrow. ;-)

Hi Mrs. Klause! I have a wonderful blueberry muffin recipe that I'm actually making right this moment for my husbands birthday (he adores them!)...Here it is, hope you and others enjoy it!

1.5 c flour
3/4 c white sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/3 c vegetable oil (or applesauce)
1 egg
1/3 c milk
1 cup blueberries
1/2 c white sugar
1/3 c flour
1/4 c butter, cubed
1.5 tsp cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease muffin cups
2. Combine 1.5 c flour, 3/4 c sugar, salt & baking powder. Place vegetable oil into a 1 cup measuring cup; add the egg and enough milk to fill the cup. Mix this with the flour mixture. Fold in blueberries. Fill muffin cups right to the top and sprinkle with crumb topping mixture.
3. To make crumb topping: Mix together 1/2 c sugar, 1/3 c flour, 1/4 c butter and 1.5 tsp cinnamon. Mix with fork and sprinkle over muffins before baking.
4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until done

Yields: 8 servings (very large muffins)

Hi, Mrs. Klause! We have visited a couple of times, at a book club meeting and then at a roller skating party a couple of weeks ago.

I like your blog. I especially appreciated the reminder about complaining. You make some excellent points! It is easy to slip into thinking that if we just give our kids one more verbal warning, one more chance, that they will of course be reasonable and stop the complaining. They just keep complaining, of course! This is currently an issue at our house, and I haven't been able to figure out what we are doing wrong. Your post has helped me think it through a little better.

Also, I wanted to let you know about a muffin recipe from www.allrecipes.com. The muffins turn out very light and fluffy. We have substituted blueberries for raspberries and they turn out tasty.
