I thought I would brainstorm a few very simple tea time ideas since the days will be soon be so busy with a new little one.
~~ Midnight tea. Perhaps that would make for a lovely memory with this wee little girl for a few weeks until she is sleeping mostly through the night (optimism..you know it).
~~ I often enclose a teabag when sending a thank you note or a card to friend. I will have a few 'thank yous' to send.
~~ When we are with Mother, we like to hit the local thrift stores to see if we can find a treasure or two. Lovely old linens or little bud vases are easily found in thrift stores for just pennies. Perhaps Mother and the girls can find us a new pretty while she is here after Baby Sister is born.
~~ The holiday season is nearing which means that peppermint sticks will be in abundance. Time to pick up a bag next time someone is at the grocery store! The children just love to stir their tea with a peppermint stick.
~~ Perhaps we can build a few tea parties over the next many weeks around our favorite little picture story books? I'm thinking teatime in the afternoon will correspond nicely with an afternoon nursing. ;0)
~ The Tale of Peter Rabbit - Kennedy's stuffed rabbit can join us and we can read the book while we sip our tea.
~ The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy Winkle - I think little girls might like to roll some napkins and pin them with some of my wooden clothespins. Bailey or Mother can read the book.
~ Baking Day - The girlies can gather a few cookie cutters, the small rolling pin, the biscuit cutter and the whisk to put into a basket for a centerpiece and we will have Daddy or Amma (my mother) pick us up some cookies or a pie at the store.
Hmm... That will take care of a few tea parties after Baby Sister is born! Sounds enjoyable for all. :0)
